Wednesday, 21 August 2013 -
6:30pm to 9:30pm

An evening with Galapagos giant tortoise specialist Professor Stephen Blake. As well as having the opportunity to learn about these iconic creatures and Stephen's work leading the Galapagos Giant Tortoise Project, guests can enjoy a barbeque on the terrace outside the Mappin Pavilion and meet the zoo's experts and resident giant tortoises. Tickets are priced in two tiers. A £20 ticket will secure your place for Stephen Blake's talk (6.30-7.30pm) while a full ticket of £75 will allow you to attend the talk, meet the expert keepers, learn about the resident giant tortoises and join Stephen and GCT staff for a summer evening barbeque on the pavilion terrace (6.30-9.30pm).

This event also marks the launch of an exciting new collaboration for tortoise conservation between GCT, the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), the British Chelonia Group (BCG) and Stephen's Galapagos Giant Tortoise Project. Proceeds from this event will help GCT fund giant tortoise research. We hope you will join us. Please call the office on 020 7399 7440 if you have any questions or would like to book your tickets over the phone.
